Scientific overview on Grape Trunk Diseases

The Winetwork project started with the constitution of Scientific Working Groups and with a collection of most recent bibliography on esca, Eutypa, Botryosphaeria, Phomopsis, Black Dead Arm, Petri disease etc., together named GTDs. The information is elaborated and commented by Vincenzo Mondello, Reims University. He shows in the video the complexity of aeziology and of interactions among the different pathogens responsible of the disease, and of them with the plant and its cultural conditions, that gives great complexity to the topic. The overview includes also possible solutions such as chemical and biological (Trichoderma) protection of pruning wounds, the "curetage", the regrafting and the timely trunk reneval (TTR).
